Swedish Flag Face Mask

swedish-flag-ski-mask.jpgThis Swedish Flag Face Mask is not made in Sweden.  It is made in the USA.

But, it is sewn by a chick with blonde hair....So, she might have some Swedish blood in her.

Her name is Jennifer, which on the surface is not Swedish at all.  Actually, that name is from England...So definitely not Swedish.

Let's be honest, I am not sure if she is even a natural blonde!

Graphene motorcycle helmets

By now, just about everyone has likely at least heard of graphene. It's made up of a one-atom-thick layer of carbon atoms, linked together in a honeycomb pattern – it also happens to be the world's strongest material. With that in mind, it's only fitting that someone has recently gone and used it in a high-end motorcycle helmet.

The Graphene Helmet is the result of an 18-month collaboration between Italian luxury brand Momodesign and the Italian Institute of Technology's Graphene Labs division – the latter is in turn a member of the Graphene Flagship development project.

Because graphene is so thin and also relatively expensive to produce, the whole helmet isn't made of it. Instead, a coating of multi-layer graphene flakes has been sprayed onto the outside of the helmet's shell. This takes place on an existing production line, at a manufacturing plant in Northern Italy.

The main effect of adding the coating is an increase in the helmet's strength, as it distributes the force of impacts across a wider area. Because graphene is an excellent thermal conductor, however, the coating also helps to boost rider comfort by dissipating heat. Additionally, because of the heat dissipation factor, the helmet's impact-resistance isn't significantly affected by high ambient temperatures.

A limited initial run of 3,000 Graphene Helmets is being produced for sale at the end of this year – a Momodesign rep tells us that they will be priced at approximately $260. The company plans to expand its line of graphene-augmented helmets in the future, and to continue working with the Italian Institute of Technology on methods of adding graphene to the helmets' inner plastic materials.

As a side note, while this is reportedly the world's first graphene motorcycle helmet, Catlike does already offer graphene bicycle helmets.

How helmets help prevent serious head injuries and deaths in motorcycle crashes

By Lana Bandoim G+
2016-11-08 17:05

Do you always wear a motorcycle helmet to protect yourself as you ride a motorcycle? If the answer is no, then you may want to pay attention to the following research results.

A recent study presented at the annual meeting of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma found a significant difference among motorcycle riders who were wearing helmets during crashes compared to those who did not wear helmets. Researchers noted that riders without helmets are 2.5 times more likely to die in a motorcycle accident. In addition, they are 3.5 times more likely to have a serious brain injury. If you are not wearing a helmet, there are important points you need to consider. Serious Head Injuries and Motorcycles

One of the biggest concerns after a motorcycle crash is the possibility of a serious head injury that can lead to ongoing medical problems and disabilities. Motorcycles make riders more vulnerable to injury in accidents because they do not provide the same level of protection as cars. From concussions to brain damage, head injuries tend to be common problems in motorcycle accidents.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) points out that a helmet’s ability to prevent a brain injury is 67 percent. This protective head gear is able to both prevent injuries and reduce the severity of damage in serious cases. Helmets can protect your head from cuts, scrapes and other superficial wounds. In addition, they can offer protection from skull fractures, brain damage, brain bleeding and other problems.

Death and Motorcycles

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety also mentions that helmets can reduce the risk of dying in a motorcycle crash by 37 percent. A serious head trauma can be deadly, but helmets can prevent fatalities. A report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) found that laws requiring the use of helmets by motorcycle riders are a crucial strategy to reducing the number of deaths in accidents. The GAO points out that 59 percent of the riders who died in motorcycle crashes did not use helmets and lived in states that do not require motorcycle helmets.

Head injuries are one of the main causes of death in motorcycle crashes. However, motorcycle helmets are designed to protect the brain and skull, so you have a greater possibility of survival. Most helmets are made from several components including impact-absorbing liners, padding and shells. The liner is meant to provide a cushion and absorb impact while the padding increases comfort. The outer shells are used to disperse the impact and keep the other materials together. Motorcycle helmets can also reduce outside noise and keep debris out of your eyes, but their main goal is to protect your brain.

Many motorcycle crash victims end up with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that can lead to death in serious cases. An estimated 50,000 deaths occur every year because of TBI. Extensive brain injuries can occur that lead to permanent, irreversible damage and death.

Man in motorcycle helmet says he has bomb, robs bank.

Please only rob banks in our motorcycle helmets.  We can use the advertising.

EUCLID, Ohio-- Euclid police are looking for a man who robbed First Merit Bank on Lakeshore Blvd at around 1 p.m. Friday.

The suspect walked into the bank wearing a motorcycle helmet, large sunglasses and a "Carhartt" bodysuit.

Police say the suspect was carrying a book bag/backpack. He announced that "he had a bomb."

He demanded that a bank teller to empty a cash drawer into a second bag; he then left the backpack in the lobby.

Police discovered the bag was full of rocks; no explosives were found at the scene.

The man left the area on a black and yellow motorcycle, described as a Suzuki RX 750. He drove away westbound on Lakeshore Blvd.

New Face Masks

We don't get to say this much, but our Neoprene Face Masks are MADE IN THE USA. I know I shouted, but these Neoprene Face Masks are made and printed in the USA. We are just so proud.

It seems like nothing is made in America anymore...and we want to put that to an end.

This Neoprene face mask is made and printed in Alabama, by Americans...that's right, people born in America, who pay American taxes and eat at American restaurants with their American paychecks in US dollars.

The money they make stays here in America and helps other Americans!
